This Week’s Top Ten Videos – Feb 14, 2011

This Week's Top 10 Videos

Yeah, we’re back! Okay, lots happened in the past month and we have to play a little catch up now. Amazing events, shows, indie music… that’s Roanoke, you know!! So let’s look at some new additions to our list of videos from around town.

The Lynchburg, VA band Alaska pulled a #1 with being on the list only one week. Nice, you guys! Hopefully we’ll see you around some more here in the ‘Noke.

Also new is a video of Ms Jue Yao, with her masterful performance at the Taubman Museum last week during the Chinese New Year Celebration organized by non-other-than our own Empress Dragon Pearl Fu.

At the Bazaar, where so many wonderful indie acts have a loyal audience, we were able to grab some video of local artists. The Situationist, a band that reminds some of us 70′s peeps of the etheral side of the Patti Smith Band and a bit of Radiohead, moves into the list with their performance of “Chestnut Tree Cafe” – an original that the band will not be playing out much longer. So this one’s gonna be a classic for us, and we viewers are quite privileged to be able to see this one archived. Also new on the list is an impromtu solo musical saw performance by Jordan Rivers of the band Another Roadside Attraction. He had immediately gotten a call to gig in NYC when someone in New York came upon this video of him. That kind of stuff makes us very happy at Star City FAME.

Congrats everybody!!!
