MyRetailRoanoke is an online poll tool
developed by the City of Roanoke to discover which retailers
residents have at the top of their wish list.
Now, with nearing 25,000 ballots cast, it's big name retailer
Kohls topping the retail chart, followed by Cheesecake
Factory and IKEA.

Relax, Citizen. You've got the Guardian Angels, and
they've got you covered.
A local Roanoke chapter of the 'Angels', led by chapter
president Karen Lilly (38) is now on the streets. The small
group includes a determined twelve-year-old (Lilly's son,
James, aka Mouse), and they are armed with first
aid kits and cellphones.
Roanoke is not quite the challenge of say, New York. The
highlight of their first patrol was extinguishing a smoking
ash can. But a dozen extras eyes on the streets can't be
bad.
